What to wear to work to stay trendy
Thursday 28 September 2017
When you like fashion but have a regular job at the office, you might get really frustrated when it comes to dressing up for work. Not everybody works at Google where you can basically wear whatever you like, and most companies ask their employees to respect a certain dress code. But it does not mean that you are limited to the classic suit, the little black dress or the Jean+White shirt combo.
There are a few simple tricks to add creativity to your office looks and wear some of the hottest current trends!
1. The Art of the Blouse
Even if the oversized white shirt is hotter than ever, there are now so many great alternatives to this classic piece. Shirts and blouses come with lacy details, embroideries, original collars, floral prints…to bring femininity and originality to your work outfit.
Remember: whether you are wearing a suit or jeans with a blazer, your blouse will determine if your outfit is yay or nay.

2. Wide Leg and High Waisted Pants
It’s a statement: high waisted pants are the ultimate chic a la Française. For the office, choose a plain color (preferably black, navy or beige) and pair it with a tight wool turtle-neck.

3. Strong accessories
Red boots, a statement bag, XXL jewelry…accessories are your best ally to bring originality and fun to any basic work outfit!

4. A Blazer
Perfect timing: the blazer is without any doubt the biggest trend of the Fall 2017, and is the PERFECT jacket to wear for work. As mentioned in my article about the FW17 trends, choose a plaid, check or tartan oversized blazer.

5. A floral dress
Don’t put away your Summer floral dresses yet! They can easily be layered with more sophisticated clothes (such as a blazer, a cashmere cardigan or a black vest) and styled with Fall accessories (boots, loafers, a leather messenger bag) to follow you all year long!
