The bathing suit trends of the summer

Summer holidays have officially started!

It is time to pack your bags, and to throw in the mix the swimsuit that you will be wearing all summer.

Will you choose a one-piece swimsuit, a bikini or a model with a high-waisted bottom?

If you haven’t made up your mind yet, it’s time for a shopping session because most swimsuits are currently on sale! I have listed below a few styling tips to help you find the right swimsuit, one that will flatter your silhouette and suit your morphology.

THE CLASSICAL ONE-PIECE

If you are a serious swimmer, love pure lines and value practicality, the classic one-piece is for you. The basic cut flatters most body types, and cherry on top: after the beach, you can style it with basically everything and wear it like a bodysuit.

The down side: it’s really lacking originality and fun.

However, because I am all in for timeless pieces, I have spotted 3 outstanding one-piece bathing suits with stunning details (embroideries, metallic pieces, drawstring around the waist) that will elevate the classical style.

THE SOPHISTICATED ONE-PIECE

The one-piece is having a real moment this summer, therefore designers upgraded it with numerous sophisticated variations: floral prints, colorful patchworks, metallic textiles…the one-piece bathing suit becomes a statement piece in itself.

Gone are the days when wearing a one-piece swimsuit meant you could not be sexy: on the contrary, a one-piece can hold a round belly, make your legs long longer, or reveal a deep V neck.

My advice: if your summer body is not 100% ready, this is your best option to highlight your assets while being ultra-feminine.

THE HIGH-WAISTED BIKINI BOTTOM

Another MAJOR trend this season is the high-waisted bikini bottom.

This retro style is ideal if you have curves: it holds the belly, lengthen the legs, highlights the waist while being very glamorous and feminine (especially if you choose a strapless bikini top).

This might be my favorite trend!
