Stephanie Vaille

It does not really feel like Spring in France because April started with lots of rain and cold temperatures…but cheer up, because today I am introducing you to a designer whose collections will take you under the Mexican sun!
I have recently discovered Stephanie Vaille, a boho chic Parisian designer. Stéphanie created her eponymous brand a few years ago, with glam-rock and bohemian chic influences.

This year, she launched a new concept: a complete collection of fashion and home pieces, inspired by her trip across Mexico. Indeed, Stephanie explored Mexico last year, from the Yucatan to the Chiapas, and worked with local craftsmen to design these creations.

I think this theme is very interesting because Mexico is not often represented in the fashion industry, even though it has an incredible tradition of embroideries and handwoven textiles.

You will find, in Stephanie Vaille’ Summer collection, a turquoise and sienna color combination that is absolutely gorgeous (especially on tan skin) and emblematic of the Mexican culture.
The Inca embroideries on the blouses, or the Maya embroideries on the home collection bring a unique ethnic chic twist.
I am all about wearing colors in the Summer, so I especially love the prints of the collection, especially the turquoise « peacock » print that you can find on tops, kimonos or dresses.
Another must-have piece (especially for the Summer holidays): the long or short kaftans, so light and easy to wear to lounge home or go to the beach. They also are easy to transition from day to night, if you have accessories like a belt and espadrilles with a wedge heel.
